Meet Your Teacher
Hi there, friend!
My name is Rabia, and I'm a licensed psychologist (specializing in pediatric neuropsychology and autism), as well as a certified mindfulness teacher.
I'm also the proud parent of an autistic teenager!
You would think that having my academic background would make raising an autistic child an easy task, but like all parents of neurodiverse children, it had its challenges.
But overall, it was a pretty typical journey.... until the day I met the limits of my training.
In 2012, my family went through several major life changes (a divorce, multiple moves, changing schools, and to top it all off, puberty).
With all of that chaos hitting our lives, my son struggled.
Instead of a haven of peace, our house became a chaotic mess of shouting, tantrums, and difficult behavioral challenges which pushed us both to our edge.
Everything I had learned up until that point just wasn't enough anymore.
Not on its own.
And so, I started looking for answers elsewhere.
I underwent a deep personal journey—immersing myself in mindfulness and self-compassion teachings, and completing multiple spiritual retreats all around the world (Plum Village in France was the bucket list item!).
Through this journey, my life was altered in such a profound way that I knew I had to bring these teachings to other parents of neurodiverse children. So, I re-trained in several evidence-based programs (such as Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction® and Mindful Self-Compassion®) and combined that with my psychology background to create an entirely new approach.
Incorporating the best of mindfulness, self-compassion, and positive psychology (all backed up with neuroscience), I was able to develop a comprehensive program that worked.

I love to use the oxygen mask analogy to show you how important it is for you to take care of yourself. This also leads to more effective and mindful parenting.
Module #4: All About Compassionate and Positive Parenting
This module teaches you how the traits of empowering, nurturing, and providing emotional security, unconditional love, empathy, and compassion, all contribute to a warm, nurturing parental style.
Module #5: Mindful Communication: Transforming Your Parent-Child Interactions
In this module, we will be addressing parenting challenges in particular. You will be taught techniques to help you de-escalate the situation and use creative discipline which keeps your child calm. Watch the tantrums decrease markedly as you employ these techniques!
Module #6: Bringing it All Together
In this final module, we will combine all the techniques we've learned into a series of scenarios to teach you how to approach different situations as they occur. You will gain experience navigating the situations so you can take these ideas into the real world as they happen.
